Brian's comment:
Palin did not say one thing of substance. All she had to do was not appear "shit-your-pants-stupid." This woman is a know-nothing hick. Another ignorant GOP boob that makes the other mouth-breathers out there in NASCAR land feel better about themselves. Screw 'em. This woman aint worth a broke-dick dog.
How's that for folksy.

As the foremost lefty-lucy feminazi (of all time), I'll take the bait. Whether I'm for or against Palin is irrelevant to my absolute disrespect for Bryan's opinion. Saying she "ain't worth a broke-dick dog" smacks of insecurity and a disgusting level of sexism. That sort of speak just makes me love Palin more. Just to ... Brian responds (emphasis added to pinpoint the source of hilarity): How is what I said sexist? I didn't say she "aint worth a broke dick dog" because she's a woman. She'd be a dunderhead if she was a man. And here's proof: her and Mr. Bush are completely identical in terms of intellect, governing philosophy, and intellectual curiosity, and he aint worth a broke-dick dog either.

BTW, the Erica referenced in this post is not me.
It's not sexist to say that she's dumber than a box of rocks. That's simply a fair assessment of her capabilities after listening to her TV interviews. I don't think I'd compare her to a dog, however.
Of course it's not sexist to say she's dumb...why would you think that I think that?? Making a statement of her worth as measured by a dick *is*.
I was having a hard time finding where he was being sexist. I thought maybe he was comparing her to a dog, which would be sexist. But I see the dick comparison now that you mention it. It's kind of horrible how conditioned my mind is to just gloss over that stuff.
The statement "broke dick dog" can be read in or out of context as a sexist statement - a sexist turn of phrase. It could be stated about a man or woman and be equally sexist. It is a statement that identifies the worth of a thing by its penis. Women, being without a penis, are therefore the ultimate in worthlessness, according to this statement. It is like saying "she is as worthless as a female dog" because female dogs do not have a dick. At the very least, (ie everything I've said so far is just me trying to explain this) those words hit me like a bag of bricks, regardless of my opinion of Palin.
Palin is another ignorant GOP idiot that makes the other morons out there in NASCAR land feel better about themselves. Gender is irrelevant to the validity of this statement.
I should say that I don't really feel bad when Palin is the butt of sexist jokes or remarks. Instead of using her position of privilege to help women, she's throwing women's rights under the bus. She's from a culture that teaches that women should not have power or autonomy, yet she somehow feels that she's unique or special or more deserving than other women in that she should have power. She's using her power for evil instead of good. That doesn't mean she should be treated poorly. It just means that I cannot empathize with her in the same way I can with Clinton. Thoughts?
I agree with Erica in the sense that this woman is not a beacon of feminist power, but yet another deterrent. Not to mention the insulting implication that McCain is asserting by choosing her: "If you liked Senator Clinton, you must like Palin--all women are the same."
I'd rather not use sexist jokes for Palin - I'd rather not use sexist jokes for anything. There are so many other jokes that can be made that there is no need to resort to sexism.
I don't care if she's a beacon of feminist power or not. I won't use sexist jokes against her and I will defend her against sexist jokes because I *am* a beacon of feminist power.
She should suffer politically for her stupidity, her hatred of women and their rights, and her lack of experience. She should not suffer politically because she is a woman. Whether she thinks other women should, or not. Yeah, I don't feel sorry for her, yeah, she is part of the problem. But I will defend her because I'm defending myself and other women.
I understand you don't empathize with her, Erica, but it's really not her that you are defending if you defended her. The problem is that anti-feminist attacks on her ARE anti-feminist attacks on us.
When someone measures any female's worth by a dog-cock because she is a woman, then they are, by implication, measuring my own worth. They're just ranking me higher. But I'm not okay with being worth more dog-cock, and you shouldn't be either.
